Two American Heroes: Honoring + Remembering Chris Kyle: Former Navy SEAL Sniper And School Bus Driver Charles "Chuck" Poland

The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday...Motto of the Navy SEALs

Chris Kyle, Former Navy SEAL, Killed At Texas Gun Range

Chris Kyle, former Navy SEAL sniper, was shot to death at a Texas gun range yesterday.

According to initial reports, Kyle and Chad Littlefield took former Marine Eddie Ray Routh to a gun range. Travis Cox, director of a non-profit Kyle helped found that helps veterans, said Kyle and Littlefield were trying to assist and help Routh with is PTSD (although, at this time, PTSD has not been confirmed). Routh shot both men to death. Routh was later arrested by troopers.

Kyle's best-selling book, American Sniper: The Autobiography Of the Most Lethal Sniper in U.S. Military History, details his sniper skills from 1999 to 2009. Kyle was assigned to SEAL Team 3. He had 4 tours of duty in Iraq. He was shot twice himself. His longest confirmed kill was an Iraqi insurgent outside of Sadr City in 2008. The insurgent, holding a rocket launcher, was killed by Kyle at a distance of approximately 1.2 miles.

Kyle was awarded the Silver Star (2) and Bronze Star for Valor (5) during his service in Iraq.

Charles "Chuck" Poland, A Genuine American Hero

School bus driver Charles "Chuck" Poland, 66, was buried on Sunday near Midland, Alabama.

Mr. Poland was the bus driver who heroically protected the children in his charge as he was allegedly killed by Jim Dykes (currently holding a 5-year old boy hostage in a bunker in Midland).

Charles Poland: a name and man we should never forget.
