Memorial Day Edition

"The story of America's quest for freedom is inscribed on her history in the blood of her patriots." Randy Vader

Regular readers of this blog know I like to begin each edition with a relevant quote. In this special edition for Memorial Day Weekend and Memorial Day, I want to take the opportunity to attach inspirational quotes to images of Memorial Day and its significance, meaning and importance to each and everyone who lives in the greatest country on God's green earth---The United States of America. And more important---to those who served and those who died in her service.

"The dead soldier's silence sings our National Anthem."  Aaron Kilbourn

"On thy grave the rain shall fall from the eyes of a mighty nation."  Thomas William Parsons

"For the love of country they accepted death."  James A. Garfield, President of the United States

"And I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free. And I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me." Lee Greenwood

"For death is no more than a turning of us from time to eternity."  William Penn

:...For glory lights the soldier's tomb, and beauty weeps the brave." Joseph Drake

"They are dead; but they live in each patriot's breast. And their names are engraven on honor's bright crest."  Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends." John 15.13

"He's Not Heavy. He's My Brother."

"The brave die never, though they sleep in dust. Their courage nerves a thousand living men." Minot Savage

"We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that a nation might live...The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here..." Pres. Abraham Lincoln. Gettysburg Address

God Bless America!
