Marines Are Rocking Cleveland; United States Army Celebrates Its Birthday; Ballfield To Battlefield; Women Veterans Health Care; Honoring Our Firefighters

Marine Week in Cleveland, Ohio



This week Marines will be rocking Cleveland. From June 11-17, 2012, the United States Marine Corps is holding Marine Week. Events throughout the week include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Vietnam War Replica
  • Marine Working Dog Demonstration
  • Marine Corps Equipment Displays
  • Science and Technology Expo
  • Marine Band Concerts
  • Marine Martial Arts Exhibitions


Each day will begin with Morning Colors and each evening will end with Evening Colors and Taps.

The United States Army Celebrates Its 237th Birthday



Two hundred and thirty-seven years ago this week, the Continental Army was born. The Army will celebrate the continued honor, loyalty and bravery of all our soldiers.





Events celebrating the Army's birthday will be taking place all across America including Europe and S. Korea.

Happy Birthday Soldiers!!! And thank you for your service.


From The Ballfield To The Battlefield



On June 7, 2012, the Media Theatre in Media, PA, previewed a new DVD entitled, "Ballfield to Battlefield and Back From FDR to JFK."
The DVD shows more than 80 major league players who served in the Armed Forces. More than 500 professional baseball players left the baseball diamond to serve during World War II.

Some of the baseball players who served in WW II included Ted Williams, Bob Feller, Yogi Berra, Joe DiMaggio, Stan Musial, and John "Mule" Miles.

Women veterans are reminded every VA facility has a full-time Women Veterans Program Manager ready to assist women veterans. Remembering Our Firefighters



According to the U.S. Fire Administration, there have been 38 firefighter fatalities this year through June 11. Dedicated to Heroes wants to take a moment to thank each and every firefighter in the nation and to honor their sacrifice
