Memorial Day Edition 2013

"The story of America's quest for freedom is inscribed on her history in the blood of her patriots."...Randy Vader

On this Memorial Day we honor those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice for this great nation.

"The dead soldier's silence sings our National Anthem." Aaron Kilbourn

"...For glory lights the soldier's tomb, and beauty weeps the brave." Joseph Drake

"How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes." M. Angelou

"The legacy of heroes is the memory of a great name and the inheritance of a great example."  Benjamin Disraeli

"The brave die never. They sleep in dust. Their courage nerves a thousand living men." Minot Savage

"They are dead, but they live in each patriot's breast. And their names are engraven on honor's bright crest."  Henry W. Longfellow

"We have come to dedicate a portion of that field, as a final resting place for those who here gave their lives that a nation might live...The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here,  but it can never forget what they did here."  Pres. Abraham Lincoln,  Gettysburg Address

Above is a photo of one of my best and dearest friends, John Martinek. He passed recently. John was a Vietnam Veteran. RIP John. We all miss you brother.
